Texlaculture HRMS + SAP

Plug agile Indian HR and payroll into the SAP finance system your enterprise already runs — without forcing employees through SAP screens.

What this integration does

Large Indian enterprises and multinationals overwhelmingly run finance on SAP — either S/4HANA or the older ECC. SAP is excellent at running an enterprise general ledger; it is rarely the place where day-to-day employee experience lives. Many groups end up running a lean Indian HRMS for the workforce and feeding the SAP general ledger from it each cycle.

Texlaculture HRMS is designed to be that workforce system. The SAP integration lets us post payroll journals, cost-centre allocations, statutory liabilities, and vendor payable lines into SAP through the channels your SAP basis team is already comfortable operating — iDoc for ECC, OData or RESTful API for S/4HANA, and SFTP for environments where direct connectivity is restricted.

What gets synced

  • Payroll journal documents with full debit / credit posting per GL account
  • Salary expense distributed by cost centre, profit centre, and WBS element
  • Employer PF, ESI, and gratuity contributions as separate liability lines
  • Employee statutory deductions — PF, ESI, professional tax, income tax (TDS)
  • Loan and advance recoveries mapped to the relevant employee receivable
  • Reimbursement vouchers including GST input where applicable
  • Vendor open items for statutory authorities (EPFO, ESIC, TDS payable, PT payable)
  • HR master changes — new hires, exits, transfers — for downstream SAP HR or master data

How it works

SAP customers vary widely in how they accept inbound documents, so the integration supports several mechanisms. For traditional ECC landscapes, payroll postings are delivered as iDocs (typically FIDCC2 or a customer-specific extension) via SAP PI/PO or the modern SAP Integration Suite. For S/4HANA, we post through OData and RESTful APIs. For air-gapped environments, signed flat files can be dropped to an SFTP location that an SAP CPI flow picks up.

Mapping is done once during onboarding. Pay components, statutory heads, cost objects, and entities in Texlaculture HRMS are mapped to GL accounts, cost centres, profit centres, and company codes in SAP. We work with your SAP partner or internal team to validate the posting structure in your dev / quality client before go-live.

Use cases for Indian businesses

The integration is built for the kind of enterprise that runs SAP centrally — large manufacturers, banks and NBFCs, retail and pharma groups, GCCs of multinationals — but wants a modern HR experience for its India workforce rather than an SAP-only screen. Texlaculture handles attendance, leave, payroll, performance, and document workflows end-to-end; SAP receives clean, structured financial entries on schedule.

For groups with multiple Indian legal entities mapped to different SAP company codes, Texlaculture HRMS can route postings to the right company code, with the correct profit-centre split and the right cost-centre derivation. That is particularly useful when group entities are merged or restructured, since the routing logic is a configuration rather than a code change.

Frequently asked questions

Do you support both SAP ECC and S/4HANA?

Yes. ECC customers typically use iDoc-based posting via PI/PO; S/4HANA customers usually prefer OData and API-based flows. Both are supported and have been deployed in production landscapes.

How does this fit alongside SAP SuccessFactors?

Many of our enterprise customers run SuccessFactors for global talent processes and Texlaculture HRMS for India payroll, attendance, and statutory compliance. The integration covers SuccessFactors employee master sync as well as financial posting to the SAP GL.

Where does the integration run?

For most customers the connector runs in Texlaculture's cloud and reaches SAP through whichever inbound channel your SAP basis team prefers. Customers who require in-network deployment can run a lightweight connector inside their own environment.

Is implementation a months-long SAP project?

Implementation is scoped tightly. A standard payroll-posting go-live typically lands inside one quarter, including dev, quality, and UAT cycles in your SAP landscape. Master-data flows can be phased in afterwards.
